EDITORS NOTE: Apparently I fucked up big time on this post. That Yelle track was produced by GrandMarnier not Disco D. Though D did do a remix for "Je Teux De Voir".

And apparently the Nadiya track was not remixed by SebastiAn. Anyone know who?

So a few more postings. I just keep playing this song over and over again. Its a killer Sebastian remix of French pop princess Nadiya. It has been on the repeat for some weeks now, surprised no one else pick it up.

Nadiya - Tous Ces Mots (SebastiAn Remix)

Speaking of French music, I dont know if this girl has gone pop over there yet, but she has been getting alot of hype in the blog world. Check out FluoKids for an in depth interview.

Yelle - Dans Ta Vraie Vie (Dirty Version) (Prod. by GrandMarnier)

Another dope Sebastian remix. Previously floating around was the Mustapha 3000 remix which I didnt like as much as his remix of Kongo Thong, but whatever.

Ali Love - Lost in the K-Hole (SebastiAn Remix)
Its amazing. You post two Justin Timberlake songs and your hits like go up 100X. I hope I dont dissapoint any new viewers of this site with any of my new postings. I hit up the pop music like every once and a while.

I spent so much time reposting those songs for everyone due to request, I havnt been able to post any new tracks I have been feeling. So check some of this shit out.

Ellen Allien & Apparat - Way Out (Robag Wruhme Vati Mafonkk Remikks)

This is off of the remix EP stemming from one of my favorite albums of this year (so far). If you havnt bought "Orchestra of Bubbles", go do it. This is also one of my more favorable remixers out there. He sort of put an Aphex spin on this.

Marc Houle - Kicker

I picked this song up from the Oh My Gosh site. This guy is on minues. A really creative techno song from his LP (or EP?) entitled Spaceships and Pings....anyone got anymore info let me know.

Rekorder - Rekorder 6.1

So I posted 5.3 a while back, and even touted it as one of my favorite tracks of the year. But at least for this week, this track has been on repeat. I love the darkness of this track. Its haunting.

Citizen Kain - Above the Influence (Oliver Koletzki remix)

So I dont know much about this artist except he is on Regular Records. But the remixer,Oliver Koletzki, has been making fucking awesome remixes this year, all of which I have posted from Cassius to Paul Jackson. JG.....think Juan remix....

Silicon Soul - 3 A.M.

The name says it all. After the after-bar....If you downloaded that Trentmoller song I posted last week, "Take Me Into Your Skin", this song compliments it like caviar to champagne.

I think everyone is beyond the point of being closeted Justin Timberlake fans. I mean once he entered the studio with Timberland for his first album I came out with it and I was proud. But dude. When he went in the studio with Three 6 Mafia....dude. How bad did we need this album to come out before the summer, but we'll have hits for the fall for sure.

When this beat changes and Three 6 come on.....its some dope shit.

I was going to post a picture of the J.T. album cover but my internet is being weird and wont let me save shit so I figured I would post the next best thing. A picture of Boo....

Justin Timberlake feat. Three 6 Mafia & Timbaland - Chop Me Up

Justin Timberlake - Summer Love

Timbaland invited girls over to watch Desperate Housewives or Sex in the City is some funny shit.

The Sideshow

Oh my lord. This is some ill shit hooked up by my man in the yay area. If youve read the latest Scratch mag, you've heard the blurb about this cat from the Bay Area called Traxamillion. He is spearheading this hyphy shit. That shake your dreads shit. And I HAD to share some cuts from his new album cause, well its ill. Like whoa ill. This shit'll make you shake your dreads, shake your bald head, shake your whatever.
Like he says, he dont even need vinyl, he'll just mp3 it. Ya heard.

Traxamillion (feat. Too Short) - The Sideshow
Traxamillion - Getcha Ass Up
Traxamillion - Club Stuntin

Oh yeah just in case you havnt been able to get the real version of this shit, here you go. Compared to the Atlantic promo shit this Timbo beat is killer!

Justin Timberlake (feat. T.I.) - My Love

So Ive heard rumours of a Juelz Santana/Lil' Wayne collabo album entitled "I Can't Feel My Face". There are only a few things that can make you loose senses in your facial area and if you listen to these two lyrics for long enough, you can guess what that shit is. I dont know if these tracks are for real, but they are sounding pretty hot. Check it.

Lil' Wayne & Juelz Santana - Rubber Burnin'

Lil' Wayne & Juelz Santana - Rewind

Lil' Wayne & Juelz Santana - I Can't Feel My Face

For all you people who still dont get the reference of the title. Here it is.
This sounds demo style though, but here you go. I cant wait to see if something materializes of this duo.

So Im fucking exhausted. This post will be short, but full of music as usual. Was just recently added to the list at Hype Machine and my hits went up like 4x. Pretty amazing. So anyway, here are some tracks that well are from over some time now, but im listening to them tonight and I really like them.

Trentemoller - Take Me Into Your Skin

An amazing track I think. Not like his killer dancefloor remixes. Really nice ambient sounding techno. Im really feeling this track.

In Flagranti - Just Gazing (Robag Wruhme Remix)

Older song, I may have even posted it when I first started this website, but I am obviously not sick of it yet.

Booka Shade - In White Rooms (Elecktrochemie Remix)

Another track from around the spring. But listened to old playlist on my iPod and forgot how beautiful this track was.

Rekorder - Rekorder 5.1

If you dont already have this track, heres another chance. Its awesome. Seriously.

Petter - Some Polyphony

I cant remember if I posted this song back in June but it goes well with this techno mix I have created. Ive seen it popping up on a few mixes, but here it is in it's beautiful wholeness.

Der Zyklus - Formenverwandler

An awesome driving song I have found. Just a dope tempo and awesome sounding techno. Is this Kompakt? Anyone know?

Hasnt this gone on long enough

It appears the Middle East is coming to some sort of "peace agreement" but on whos terms and who really benefits? I suppose those hundreds of thousands of Lebanese who were displaced by the bombardment by the Israelis, but we all have to think, what does the U.S and the Western world benefit from this. Because they sure as wouldnt be flying Condi Rice back and forth on her own private Boeing plane if they were not at least giving receipts to someone.....right?

Well anyway, Im making Ive got a few straight up party songs to liven up peoples days. Its Tuesday, eh still time before the weekends, but whatever.

Phonique - Where's The Party At?

Got that classic Detroit old school techno feeling to it. Not sure how old it is, but I mean the title....the feeling....

Fedde Le Grande - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit (Claude Vonstroke Remix)

Do I need to say anymore? The title says it all.

Jona - Someone Put The Lights On (Claude Vonstroke Remix)

Off of Claude Von Stroke's 'Miami Bombs' CD promo (no pun intended with the bombs). Good techno track.

Simian Mobile Disco - Tit's & Acid

Interesting choice for the title. This track is definatly no "Hustler" , but its growing on me. As the title leads us to believe, heavy acid samples throughout make for good party song.

Delicious - Let It Drop (Original Mix)

Swiped this one off of Skull Juice. Dont know the history and too lazy right now to investigate on All Music Guide. Like the previous track, has got a nice old school feeling to it. This time a bit more of the rave than Detroit or acid. Anyone want to help?

huffin' it up

So I am definatley a hater of the "chill out" mix. They imply boutique hotels and a rash of bands/groups I wont mention as I dont want to offend anyway, but anyway, I needed to chill out today. It was Sunday, I had gone out the previous evening and was hurting this morning. The sky was grey and its was just constant drippings of rain like I were in England in Novemeber or March. I had school work I needed to do, laundry starting to smell in the bathroom and cleaning which was long over due. So I decided to put together a little iTunes mix to get me through the day.
Clearly I had shit to do, so I needed to to be fun. My suggestion if you use iTunes, put these tracks together in a playlist. They compliment each other nicely. And you wont find yourself snoozing.

Âme - Rej (Pasta Boys Remix)

Dont know much about this tune. Anyone care to fill me in? I really like it though.

Gui Boratto - Like You (SuperMayer Remix)

A classic Kompakt remix from the super producer team of Michael Mayer and Superpitcher. I believe they have an album slated to come out fairly soon.

John Tejada - End of It All (Original Mix)

An awesome track. I know its been posted on numerous blogs a while back, but I figured those links may have expired.

Minilogue - The Girl From Botany Bay

A great record I swipped from TAPE blog. Its a long techno journey (over 10 mins!) but never really boring.

Junior Boys - In The Morning (Alex Smoke Remix)

This record has become one of my favorites of the summer. Alex Smoke remixing it makes it that much better.

Theo Parrish - Falling Up (Carl Craig Remix)

This is probably one of everyones favorite tracks of the summer. Its appeared on numerous mixes. I mean Theo Parrish....Carl Craig....

Johan Fotmeijer - Are We Gonna Fail Now? (Frank Matriniq Remix)

I got this track well over a year ago now....Maybe even two, but I never get sick of it. Danceable glitchy techno.

Ada - Call the Tune

New Ada track. I love the shit she puts out.

Metope - Second Skin (Tekel Remix)

Another favorite of everyones. Its been floating around for a while, but this has become another one of my anthems of the Spring/Summer.

Joakim - I Wish You Were Gone (Vocal Edit)

Getting into some new tracks. Posted a Joakim song last week. Another track Im getting into though it came out on the last Kitsune cd a while ago. I can kinda see a LCD/Beat Connection vibe in here.

Peter, Bjorn and John - Young Folks (Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve Remix)

Another remix from the apparent very busy and multi named Erol Alkan. 'For the Eardrums' blog posted on these guys last year, but apparently this tune is bubbling up on numerous mixes this summer.

Hot Chip - Colours (Fred Falke Remix)

I love the original. But this is a nice reworking which gives the somber track a fun French disco vibe.

Im Back

OK so I know its been a while. Shits been busy. And you fuckers never even bother to post comments so I am kind of losing interest in this whole thing. But Ill keep doing it. What was it, like TAPE or Headphone Sex reached 100,000 viewers!! Congrats. But help a brother out and send traffic my way. I guess I need to be more on my original shit. As I mentioned it is a selfish blog about what I like. I tried recruiting the MayTag Repair Man to assist in these postings, but he is too busy with his iTunes bizness and whatnots. And well I dont know many peeps up in this Minneapolis area. Anyone up for collabing on this ish and making the market bigger. Apparently even Wesley is dissing it, calling it "The Gay Market". Ouch B. Anyway, Im going to throw a handful of tracks at you I am feeling this week. Some old, some new. Some already posted and some I dont even know, so enjoy them and enjoy your fucking weekends!

Thanks to Palms Out for the following two tracks.

Finally Rick Ross album dropped and its hot. HOTTT.

Rick Ross - Hustlin (DJ Orgasmic remix)

Young Jeezy - Trap Star (Bonde Do Role Tobaco Remix)

Apparently Mr. Pentz was up in iTunes with his Brazillian connects this week making some exclusive shit for all y'all iTunes nerds. Peep it soon

Oh yeah, another track from Palms Out. Sorry for jacking your shit, but your last few postings have been fire. Speaking of jacking, is this sample legal? Whatever

Lil' Wayne - Pump That Bass

Now I know he has been out for a minute....and longer, I just wanted to give some attention to a guy making dope remixes...Solid Groove and Switch. I really like this one for Hot Chip's "Over and Over" by Solid Groove and another one he did for Edu K.

Hot Chip - Over and Over (Devolve vs. Solid Groove)
Edu-K - Sex-O-Matic (Solid Groove Remix)
And a band I originally hated on are coming through with some solid remixes for their singles.

The Futureheads - Worry About It Later (Switch Edit)

And putting it all together, the Bossy chick who is getting the remix remixed out of her, Kelis. This edit is pretty dated, but it goes with the flow. And its old enough where it probably needed to be updated!

Kelis - Bossy (Switch Edit)

And a more recent remix for Mrs. Jones from Alan Braxe and Fred Falke. Now there are two remixes of their for this track. This is the better one obviously.

Kelis - Bossy (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Earth Out Remix)

All about the flow. This remix for Kelis from Tiefschwarz is for sure a dancefloor filler. When was this released?

Kelis - Trick Me (Tiefschwarz remix)

New Joakim is really good. Likes alot!

Joakim - Drumtrax

And the olders are still classic

Joakim - Come Into My Kitchen

Oh shit, did a quick song search in my iTunes (yeah Im one of those aforementioned geeks, so what) for Switch and I forgot he did this awesome edit of Sharon Phillips. I know we all love the Trentmoller remix, but did you overlook this one?

Sharon Phillips - Want 2 Need 2 (Switch Edit)

Ravers Suck Yur Sound

So ive been all over hip hop and chicago house music, Im feeling like an old school techno post is due. And where better to start than early Warp. First off from one of my favorite artists (I know Ive got a shit load of favorite artists, sorry), but anyway starting it slower with LFO.

LFO - Simon From Sydney
This next one isn't warp, but its for sure a definite classic. Released on Mo Wax, this track was released as an EP entitled "Breaking Boundries Messing Up Heads E.P.". Its dope if you can pick it up on wax. This remix is one of my favorites from Mr. Hawtin. And for those of you feeling that new Cassius song, this is what Boom Bass and Philippe Zdar were up to years in advance.

La Funk Mob - Motor Bass Get Phunked Up (Hawtin Remix)

Back to Warp, another one of my "favorite" artists. No but really, Richard James is in my top five all time favorite artists. He would be number one if he stopped making music in 95 and I dont mean he got bad but Im just not so much into the harder stuff he began to make. Selected Ambient Works is one of my favorite albums. Ask in the DFA office, Im sure I wore out a copy.

Aphex Twin - Heliosphan

Aphex Twin - Polynomial G

Pop over stateside for the last jam. No, not Chicago, Detroit. The previous artists could be argued to have been influenced by this man here. Juan Atkins. Known by tons of other names, this guy really put techno on the map. Again, up for debate, but this site is about my thoughts, so post a comment. Get active.

Juan Atkins - Scan 7 / 21st Century

Anyway, enjoy. Be back soon. Thanks Hype Machine for putting me up there.

Its that time again

So the Minneapolis heatwave has finally broken I hope. Its like a cool 75 degrees here today and things are looking good. Ive been in somewhat of a shit mood this week just because nothing is good when its 100 degrees outside, but whatever, Im over it, and Ive got some happy postings for you.

So basically its time for this weeks gay dance party! YAY!

Lets kick it off with someone who could use a little more sunshine in her life these days. Ms. Whitney. Yes, in my mind she isnt married to B. Brown cause he has just fucked shit up. Take that pipe away from your lips and listen to this song.

Whitney Houston - Love Will Save the Day (JellyBean & David Morales Remix)

Mixes well with the Whitney track. Its all about having some big fun this summer.

Inner City - Big Fun (Magic Juan Edit)

What was more short lived than hip house? Here is the Raze classic, All 4 Love making b boys around the world break for love.

Raze - All 4 Love (Hip House version)

Here is a little hip acid house from Traxx Records. You remember that Daft Punk song "Teachers" (in the same vain as LCD's Losing My Edge) where they name off dance music pioneers. Remember that first name "Paul Johnson". Check why they mentioned him first.

Paul Johnson feat. Eric Martin - We Live This Life

And I can't make a mention of Traxx Records without posting a Frankie Knuckles track. Im sure everyone has this one, but Ive done my job if Ive hook up one fan who doesnt have it. Dont we all wish it were a bit colder right now anyway? Enjoy.

Frankie Knuckles - Its a Cold World

I guess you guys can tell I am kind of obsessed with the Chicago House scene. Well at least back in the day. Especially Ron Hardy.

Ron Hardy - House Flashback

The It - Donnie (Ron Hardy Edit)

Tuesday, August 01, 2006

Wow. This new Justin Timberlake track is ill. The beat is just so fucking dope. Im not so into his vocals, but once T.I. drops in, the club is done. Too bad his verse is way to short. Who did this beat? Im going to assume Timbaland, but he's fucking with some Lil Jon style synths. I dont know dudes. What does everyone think?
Sorry for the promo blabbing, ill get a real version here soon enough.

Justin Timberlake (feat. T.I.) - My Love
I bet when a proper version comes around the shit will knock my socks off. Oh its totally Timbaland on a re-listen. Listen to the beatbox and vocals before and during the hook. Pleease T.I. and Timbaland?!

Rick Ross vs Simian Mobile Disco - Hustlin' Hustler (Cadence Weapon Hi-Speed Edit)
This shit is the fucking shit. I know Ive said it over and over but Rick Ross is killing it. It was only a matter of time before someone put these tracks together. I can't even judge cause im feeling Ross too much.

Clipse - Drop It (Les Bitches Remix)

I dont know the story behind this track, whether its old or new or whatever, but its fucking sick. Even the J-Tag repair man thinks so. Prick went to Hot Chip like the hipster he is. Dont scuff them Huff Dunks B.

Fam-Lay (feat. Pharrell) - Beeper
Thats for you son.

Fun mash up of David Banner over the Cure. No seriously, it flows for sure. Maybe I love both artists too much. The gentle music works with the soft vocals though.

David Banner/The Cure - Play Close to Me (Paul Devro Remix)

As far as my favorite group of right now (and for a while), The Knife, Pound for Pound as just done a nice posting as has 20 Jazz Funk Greats. Check out the Ratatat remix of "We Share Our Mothers Health" and the live version of "Kino" at Scala. This song is so good I cant explain it. I would give anything to see these guys live....Please come to America soon.

Fuck it, sorry 20JFG, but for those who need a one stop joint, download that song here. Its too good to let slide (I tried to edit out the crowd noise as well)

The Knife - Kino (Live @ Scala)

And if you havnt gotten the new album "Silent Shout" get it now.
